This talk addresses neuro-developmental language development in children from the earliest years of life, explaining the stages of typical language and communication growth and the factors that may influence language acquisition. It also reviews early warning signs that warrant evaluation, the most common misconceptions about speech and language delay, and the impact of screen time and the surrounding environment on a child’s development. Participants will receive practical, evidence-based guidance to support communication and language skills at home, and to recognize the right time to seek assessment and early intervention for the best outcomes.
تتناول هذه المحاضرة التطور اللغوي العصبي لدى الأطفال منذ السنوات الأولى من العمر، مع توضيح مراحل النمو الطبيعي للغة والتواصل، والعوامل التي قد تؤثر في اكتساب اللغة. كما تستعرض العلامات المبكرة التي تستدعي التقييم، وأبرز المفاهيم الخاطئة حول تأخر النطق واللغة، وأثر الشاشات والبيئة المحيطة في تطور الطفل. سيحصل الحضور على إرشادات عملية مبنية على الأدلة العلمية لدعم مهارات التواصل واللغة في المنزل، والتعرف على الوقت المناسب لطلب التقييم والتدخل المبكر لتحقيق أفضل النتائج.

Dr Danah AlAhmad

Dr Danah AlAhmadد. دانة الأحمد

Speech, Language, Swallowing, and Neurocommunication Specialist with clinical experience since 2009. I specialize in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, voice, swallowing, and neurogenic communication disorders in both children and adults. My clinical interests include early intervention, pediatric speech and language disorders, dysphagia management, and speech and swallowing rehabilitation for individuals with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological conditions. I am passionate about evidence-based practice, professional education, and empowering families through practical guidance. I have delivered lectures and workshops for healthcare and educational professionals and contributed to the development of Arabic educational resources and therapeutic materials to advance speech-language pathology services in the region.

استشارية برنامج تدخل مبكر لغوي ، اختصاصية علاج النطق واللغة والبلع والاضطرابات العصبية التواصلية بخبرة سريرية منذ عام 2009. أعمل في تقييم وتشخيص وعلاج الأطفال والبالغين، مع اهتمام خاص باضطرابات النطق واللغة، عسر البلع، واضطرابات التواصل العصبية، بما في ذلك مرضى باركنسون. شاركت في تقديم العديد من المحاضرات وورش العمل للكوادر الصحية والتعليمية داخل الكويت وخارجها، وأسهمت في تطوير محتوى علمي باللغة العربية، وإصدار وسائل علاجية تعليمية لدعم الأسر والمتخصصين. أؤمن بأن التدخل المبكر، والممارسة المبنية على الأدلة العلمية، والشراكة مع الأسرة هي الركائز الأساسية لتحقيق أفضل النتائج العلاجية وتحسين جودة حياة المرضى.
